But while its dramatic glazed glass faÃ§ade immediately sets it apart, part of the Edge's uniqueness is also hidden: the glass faÃ§ade was installed in large panel units which were simply stuck to the structure's frame with silicone caulk.
An REI store, which occupies the first two floors (and 40,000 square feet) in this building, and loft dwellers from above can descend and clamber about on its rock wall at will. (And if you're wondering where this structure's name came from, walk around to its west side to see its proximity to the I-405 freeway. It's on the edge, all right.)
